(a) A text equivalent for every non-text element shall be provided (e.g., via "alt", "longdesc", or in element content).

Formatta Designer supports the ability to insert a tag for each non-text element that makes textual data available to screen reader software. For images that have no function associated with them, hidden fields can be used to associate a text label with them.
