Formatta's form technology supports Oracle, SQL Server and other corporate-strength databases. In addition, because Formatta products use XML technology, even legacy systems can be used for data collection or data distribution.
Formatta Server APIs and programming libraries are available for multiple platforms, such as Windows, Solaris, Linux, AIX, and other UNIX variants. Also, there is support for languages such as C++, Java, and any other language that can use COM (VB, VBScript, Javascript, Perl, etc.) or .NET classes (all .NET languages).
The APIs provide extensive support for manipulating electronic form files, including data extraction and insertion, cryptographic functions, printing, working with attachments, and even layout-modifying operations, such as appending pages from other forms. In addition to this, there is a rich set of functions for working with many Internet protocols, and many other helpers that make developing with Formatta Server an easy task.
Data can be exported in CSV (comma separated variable) or in XML (extensible markup language) formats. Other easily portable or proprietary formats can be supported as required, and will be built on a custom basis.
