Formatta Receives Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Award to Support Electronic Grant Applications for the National Institutes of Health

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) receives about 47,000 grant applications from researchers every year. In an effort to reduce paper processing, the NIH is developing a system for accepting electronic grant applications. The SBIR awards – provided to five different companies – have been awarded to spur companies to provide the NIH grantee community with the software and services necessary for electronic grant application submissions to the NIH.

Under the SBIR award (Grant Number U44 RR 018092), Formatta will provide electronic forms and software free of charge to research institutions interested in submitting electronic grant applications to the NIH. In addition, Formatta will also act as a service provider, assisting grant applicants in preparing and submitting their grant applications electronically.
